Trampled by Turtles to play hometown gig in Duluth
Fresh off their string of 10th anniversary shows at First Avenue in Minneapolis, Duluth's Trampled by Turtles are headed up north again for a hometown gig.
The Duluth News Tribune reports that the hit indie bluegrass band will co-headline a concert with Minneapolis-based Atmosphere June 29 at Bayfront Festival Park.
Advance tickets for the concert are $25 and go on sale Friday. Tickets at the gate are $30.
The Star Tribune reviewed the second show in Trampled by Turtles' three-night stand at First Avenue last week, saying the band weathered the Thursday snow storm and played with "a little extra vim and vigor."
The paper remarked that just "the heat generated" in their tunes "Walt Whitman" and "Wait So Long" alone "was enough to melt a mountain of snowy misery."
