When Mall of America opened 25 years ago, Tucci Benucch was right there to welcome the megamall's earliest guests.

But the first-floor Italian eatery's long run will come to an end soon.

Tucci Benucch's last day in operation will be Feb. 4, 2018, a spokesperson for the restaurant's owners Lettuce Entertain You confirmed to GoMN.

The reason? The restaurant's lease is up, according to the spokesperson.

The Magic Pan Crepe Stand – also owned by Lettuce Entertain You, and located right next to Tucci Benucch – will also shut down after that day for the same reason.

"We appreciate our many loyal guests and employees that have supported us at that location for nearly 25 years," Lettuce Entertain You said.

What will replace them?

That location (first floor, West side of the mall, right by H&M and Urban Outfitters) is a high-traffic area at MOA.

So what will go in their place?

The mall isn't revealing that at this point, with a spokesperson only saying they're "sad to see" Tucci Benucch and Magic Pan go.

"With change always comes opportunity and we look forward to exciting announcements for those spaces in 2018," the mall spokesperson said.

The most recent additions to MOA have seemed directed toward younger shoppers and palates: a vegan fast food joint, an online custom suit seller, the Wahlberg-led burger shop, an ice cream chain called Sweet Jesus, a craft beer haven.
