Two Minneapolis eateries make Bon Appetit's list of 50 best new restaurants

Bon Appetit has discovered a pair of new dining spots in Minneapolis and has included them in its list of the 50 best new restaurants of the year.

The Huffington Post reports that Borough in the North Loop and World Street Kitchen, a walk-up counter service spot in the Lyn-Lake neighborhood both make the list.

The magazine praises World Street Kitchen's unpretentious style and cheap checks. It recommends sampling its "....caramelized lamb belly rice bowl with pickled cucumbers, Moroccan fried chicken biscuit sandwich, salad with "Greek goddess" dressing...and Bangkok Burritos."

At Borough, it's an across-the-menu rave: "From oysters to pasta to tofu, pretty much everything on this eclectic menu is spot-on," the magazine writes, giving a pat on the back to Borough's "...sibling cocktail bar Parlour, where the short menu includes Borough's juicy double-stacked cheeseburger."

The influential food publication's restaurant and drinks editor criss-crossed the country to discover the top new eateries. On August 14, the 50 nominees will be whittled down to 10, when Bon Appetit announces the second annual Hot 10 and the Best New Restaurant in America.

California takes the lead on the list, with seven restaurants, followed by Texas with six and New York with five.
