Update: Those 6 unreleased Prince tracks won't be coming out Friday

A judge ordered the producer behind Deliverance to not share any Prince recordings that could violate a confidentiality agreement.

Nevermind about that six-track EP of unreleased Prince songs that was supposed to come out Friday.

A judge on Wednesday ordered that George Ian Boxill – the producer who planned to put out the Deliverance EP – is barred from releasing or sharing "any unreleased recordings" that the Prince estate alleges violate a confidentiality agreement.

In addition, under the temporary restraining order the judge approved, Boxill has to turn over all his recordings he got through work with Prince and Paisley Park – including original recordings, analog and digital copies, and any derivative work – to the Prince estate attorneys.

This temporary retraining order is in effect through to 11:59 p.m. on May 3, though it could be extended.

In addition, although there were more requests to seal even more documents in the case, the original lawsuit the Prince estate filed in Carver County, Minnesota, was posted online. It accuses Boxill of violating a confidentiality agreement he signed before working with Prince at Paisley Park, and also of exploiting the music he unlawfully has possession of, for his own personal gain. (You can read the Carver County suit, which was refiled in federal court, here.)

Boxill said the tracks were recorded with him between 2006 and 2008, and after Prince died he completed the arrangements and mixing.

Some preorders are gone

And with all this court action, some of the streams and preorders that had been online for Deliverance have disappeared.

The title track "Deliverance" is still available to stream in full on SoundCloud – though who knows how long that will stay up. And the website and Facebook promoting "the unheard spiritual voice of Prince Rogers Nelson" are still live with preview snippets as of 7 a.m. Thursday. You can even preorder directly through the site still, though don't hold your breath that those actually come through.

But when you try to pull Deliverance up through iTunes, it appears to have been pulled by Apple.

What will happen to anyone who preordered is unclear right now.

Expect more court hearings at some point in the near future as this continues to get sorted out. But do not expect that six-track unreleased Prince EP to come out Friday.
