There are more than 400 amusement parks and attractions in the United States, and countless rides.
But Valleyfair's most recent is apparently one of the best new rides around.
The 230-foot-tall North Star was voted the fourth best new amusement park ride of 2017 in a USA Today 10Best contest. It finished above the only wooden roller coaster in Florida that goes upside down, a Wonder Woman–themed Lasso of Truth ride at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, and Disney's new The World of Avatar attraction.
"You haven't experienced a swing ride until you've ridden it 230 feet in the air," wrote USA Today.
The North Star opened in May of 2017, replacing the classic Enterprise near the front of the park. It is the only ride of its type in the region, elevating riders way up in the air then spinning them around at 40 mph in swings.
