It's a rite of passage now that when an international music star comes to Minnesota they must: A) Play a Prince song, and B) Describe that one time they met Prince.
Pop superstar Lorde checked both of these boxes at her Friday night show at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, sitting down at the front of the stage to describe that time she met Prince at the Grammys.
Sat at the same table as him, the New Zealand singer, known for award-winning hit "Royals," reveals nobody at the table would speak to Prince as they were too afraid to offend him.
"It was like the Queen, no-one wanted to talk to him."
Lorde was among those too in awe to speak to him, but her moment came when he got up to present an award and tapped her on the shoulder, telling her: "It's so nice to see you."
She then plunged into a few bars of "I Would Die 4 U," thus checking the second box. Watch her below.
