A sprawling virtual reality arcade, bar and restaurant complete with a two-floor go-kart track opens at the Mall of America on Tuesday.

Smaaash is the first foray into the U.S. for India-based chain, which has plunged $12 million into the 40,000-square-foot entertainment center on the fourth floor of the Bloomington megamall.

Filling the space is a multi-level go-kart track, arcade games and an area for virtual reality games, with Smaaash's website revealing a whole suite of VR experiences using Oculus Rift headsets.

The Star Tribune reports it's one of the largest investments made by a company inside the mall, and it means the less-visited fourth floor is fully leased for the "first time in years."

Smaaash offered a behind the scenes look this week at the go-kart track in the video below – and it looks as though overtaking could be an interesting proposition.

Also something to bear in mind if you're going – it's a little pricey. According to the website, six minutes of go-karting costs $22 for adults and $30 for children (because it includes an $8 training surcharge), not including taxes.

Individual virtual reality games are cheaper at $5 per game, and you can pay $25 to play all of them once, or $30 for unlimited play.

There's also a $50 package that gives you a ride on the go-karts and unlimited access to VR experiences, which include a virtual rollercoaster game, as well as shooting, football and soccer games.

On the food and drink side, Smaaash is promising 40 types of craft beer from Minnesota breweries and a "plethora of specialty cocktails."

There's also a "party zone" for large group bookings and a "locally sourced and sustainable menu."

Smaaash is located next to Rick Bronson's House of Comedy. It opens at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
