Ever wanted to see your artwork on a t-shirt? A local brewery may have a project for you.

In preparation for the next Art-a-Whirl, Fair State Brewing Co-op is looking for artists to create designs that will be used for live screen printing demonstrations during the art show.

They are particularly interested in art that focuses on Art-A-Whirl, beer, community, and Fair State. The brewery notes that elaborate designs can be difficult to print – so try to keep it kind of simple.

Other rules: Submissions must be in Photoshop (.psd) or Illustrator (.ai) formats, have a minimum 300dpi, must be one color only, and have a transparent background.

Three submissions will be selected. If your design is one of the three winners, your art will be screen-printed on apparel during Art-A-Whirl weekend.

And that's not all – chosen artists also receive a private brewery tour and tasting for the winner and five friends, plus a piece of apparel featuring their design.

If you're interested, email your submissions (or any questions) to sarah@fairstate.coop by Friday, May 5 at 11:59pm.

Winners will be notified by Tuesday, May 16th.

Fair State Brewing Cooperation

According to their website, Fair State is Minnesota's first cooperative brewery.

What exactly does that mean? Well, you can become a member – and actually own a share of the brewery.

Members also get perks like voting rights, exclusive discounts, refunds based on yearly profits, and first dibs on special beer releases.

"Our goal is to put the natural connection between brewer and community to work to create something that truly belongs to us all. Creating infinite community and quality craft beers," the site states.

Located in Minneapolis, Fair State Co-op has more than 20 unique beers on tap.

What's Art-a-Whirl?

It's an annual art studio tour in Northeast Minneapolis, presented by the Northeast Minneapolis Arts Association.

The website says Art-a-Whirl gives Minnesotans an opportunity to tour private artist studios and galleries, connect with the artists, and purchase original artwork. Over the last 20 years, it has become the largest open studio tour in the country.

The next Art-a-Whirl is scheduled for May 19-21.
