Web Catch: A day in the life of The King of Bacon

When it comes to the world of bacon, Allan Benton may just be a god among men.

Ratings resource Zagat boldly proclaims his porcine products as "the country's best bacon."

Benton also nabbed the prestigious James Beard Award for "Who’s Who of Food and Beverage in America" earlier this year. In 2007, Southern Foodways Alliance bestowed their highest honor – The Jack Daniel Lifetime Achievement Award – to him. The list of praise continues.

Zagat teamed up with The Huffington Post to provide a Day In The Life feature of Benton at his Tennesse smokehouse. He's been the reigning meat master there since 1973 and shows no signs of slowing down.
