We all know how frantic fans can get when competing for a home run that lands in the stands – but this guy went above and beyond.

Joe Panik of the San Francisco Giants launched a bomb into right field that bounced over the edge of the stadium and landed in the San Francisco bay (McCovey Cove to be precise).

Watching the ball splash down was a passing fan, who spontaneously launched himself in after it.

His smile when he grabbed it suggested it was worth the soggy clothes and probably ruined cellphone.
