Web Catch: Massive flood crashes through family's vacation home

A terrifying torrent of floodwater crashed through the wall of a family's vacation home in Wimberly, Texas, earlier this week.

Ernie Perez and his wife Sarah were inside when the rushing waters of the Blanco River overpowered their front door, causing a swell of destruction in its path. Within seconds, chairs, toys and other household items were transformed into waterlogged debris. Watch the video above.

"It turned the living room into a gigantic washing machine," Perez told CNN.

Fortunately for the Perez family, rescue crews were already in the area checking on an elderly neighbor. All family members staying in the flooded home survived.

The incident is one that is being played out countless times as Texas faces flooding from an aggressive storm system sweeping the region.
