Every year the student chorus at Public School 22 in Staten Island, New York, performs a special song.

Their most recent performance was dedicated to teacher Adriana Lopez.

Lopez, who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, watched through tears as the students sang Martina McBride's "I'm Gonna Love You Through It."

The students held pink carnations as they sang, delivering the flowers and many hugs to their beloved teacher at the end of the performance.

"It's not easy," Lopez remarked, "but I will get through it because I have wonderful friends at this school."
