Will they bite? 'Shark Tank' holding open casting call in MN

Have an idea that could reel in the sharks?

There's an open casting call for the ABC hit "Shark Tank" – a show that gives entrepreneurs the chance to pitch their idea to a group of wealthy investors – later this month.

Those who want to test the waters with their idea will have the chance to give a one-minute pitch of their business, product or idea to the "Shark Tank" casting team at Mystic Lake Casino's Dakota Ballroom on Friday, April 24.

The casting call goes from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. If you plan to go, complete the open casting call application before you get in line.

The University of Minnesota is also hosting a casting call the next day, but it's reserved for alumni and current students, plus past and current Minnesota Cup participants. The event will be held at the Carlson School of Management from 10 a.m. to noon, according to the event page.

Those interested in practicing their presentation will have the chance at the Twin Cities' "Piranha Pool" at the MinneBar tech event April 12, the Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal says.

At the event, Minnesota-based startups that need more funding will have the chance to give a 15-minute pitch to potential investors based in the Twin Cities, the Business Journal notes.
