Minnesotans are heading into that part of winter where it feels like it will be cold and snowy forever, and we inevitably start daydreaming about warm temperatures. Especially since there are a bunch of summer events to look forward to this year, like the X Games Minneapolis.

The three-day action sports extravaganza is being held at U.S. Bank Stadium this July, where hundreds of the world's best athletes will compete in BMX, skateboarding, and motocross. ESPN says it'll be the first major event at the stadium, and they've just announced a music lineup to go along with the sports.

According to the press release, Minneapolis' hip hop duo Atmosphere will be part of the event, as well as Florida rockers A Day to Remember and Australian electro-pop musician Flume.

The Star Tribune says it'll be Atmosphere's third hometown show of 2017, after their sold-out concert at the renovated Palace Theatre in St. Paul on March 10 and their usual set at the Soundset festival on May 28.

The musical performances are spread out over three days (July 14-16) and will take place at the Commons stage, located outside U.S. Bank Stadium. ESPN describes the event as an "interactive youth cultural festival."

Tickets for the concerts start at $20 - admission to the games runs much higher. All tickets are on sale now at www.xgames.com/tickets.

Free admission

To kick off the X Games Minneapolis, guests can actually get into the stadium for free on Thursday, July 13, for the first two competitions: BMX Vert and Skateboard Vert, beginning at 5 p.m.

ESPN says Harley-Davidson Flat-Track Racing is also happening that day - more details will be announced later.
