The mother of late teen musician Zach Sobiech says she's experiencing bittersweet feelings going into graduation ceremonies Saturday night at Stillwater High School, KSTP-TV reports.

In an interview with the station, Laura Sobiech says she'll "be cheering on all those friends who stood by him so faithfully, but I think there will be tears."

Zach Sobiech died last month of a rare form of bone cancer, but not before he touched the world with his song, "Clouds."

To date the song has been viewed 7 million times on YouTube and topped the iTunes sales and the Billboard Digital Rock Songs chart.

The musician also finished his studies at Stillwater and even received his diploma.

Laura Sobiech said her son applied and was accepted at the University of Minnesota despite his terminal illness, because they "always had to have some room for that miracle to happen. Something planned beyond just cancer."

She also revealed that her son was paying music even in the final days of his life, saying "he laid on the couch and just held his guitar, and strummed it and only played for about 2 or 3 minutes … It was a big part of is life right until the end."

KSTP says Zach Sobiech's classmates plan on honoring him on Saturday's ceremonies, and plan on leaving an empty seat for him.
