Two of the hottest restaurants in the country can be found in Minneapolis, based on a survey of Yelp reviewers.
The business directory and review site has released the results of its 8th annual "Top 100 Places to Eat" rankings, with Boludo and Momo Sushi making the list.
The rankings are put together based on the feedback from Yelp users who were asked in December to "tell us about their favorite restaurants."
Boludo ranked 69th nationally, with the Argentinian pizzeria and empanada specialists on Nicollet Avenue in Kingfield attracting huge plaudits since it was opened in 2018 by chef Facundo DeFraia.
The restaurant recently featured in the top six pizza picks by Star Tribune food critic Rick Nelson, who said DeFraia makes "a Margherita for the ages."
Momo Sushi, which has offered authentic Japanese and Tibetan cuisine since at 1839 Central Ave. NE in Northeast Minneapolis since 2019, ranks 92nd.
The restaurant is the brainchild of chef Sonam Nyorie, who came to the U.S. as a Tibetan immigrant in 2010, and mixes the food from his homeland with the sushi skills he picked up on the East Coast and in the Twin Cities.
