2018's most popular baby names in America announced

You can also type in your name to find out how popular it is now.

Babies born in 2018 were most commonly named Liam and Emma, according to the most popular 2018 baby names in America list released by the Social Security Administration. 

Top 10 girl names:

  1. Emma
  2. Olivia
  3. Ava
  4. Isabella
  5. Sophia
  6. Charlotte
  7. Mia
  8. Amelia
  9. Harper
  10. Evelyn

The only new name on the girls' list is Harper, which replaces Abigal. 

Top 10 boy names: 

  1. Liam
  2. Noah
  3. William
  4. James
  5. Oliver
  6. Benjamin
  7. Elijah
  8. Lucas
  9. Mason
  10. Logan

The only newcomer on the boys' list is Lucas, which slid into the top 10 with Jacob falling out. The top three remain the same as last year's list.
