Minnesota is home to three of the best beers in the country, according to the American Homebrewers Association.

In the latest of its annual survey of readers of its Zymurgy magazine, two Surly and one Summit beer made it into its Best Beers in America table.

Surly's Todd the Axe Man was tied 23rd, with Surly Furious tied 30th and Summit EPA in tied 43rd.

Surly also made the list of the 25 best breweries in the country, ranking in 14th place.

Just a year ago, no Minnesota beers featured on the list, despite Minneapolis being the venue for the AHA's annual HomeBrew Con.

Surly Todd the Axe Man is a west coast-style IPA, Furious an IPA, while the Summit EPA an English Pale Ale-style beer.

CityPages notes that the last time that the EPA made the list was in 2011, when it also finished 43rd, while Todd the Axe Man last featured in 2016 when it placed 42nd.
