A dill pickle pizza from Minnesota has got the food world talking
A quirky piece of Minnesota cuisine has sparked a national debate after a video of a Mahtomedi restaurant's dill pickle pizza went viral.
Called "It's Kind Of A Big Dill," the pizza is inspired by the "Minnesota Sushi" snack of pickle, cream cheese and ham is the work of QC Pizza.
Their pizza version of Minnesota Sushi is a combination of smoked Canadian bacon, layers of pickles, garlic dill sauce and mozzarella cheese, with Foodbeast sharing a video of how it's made on its Facebook page on June 21.
It's since been watched more than 11 million times and sparked articles from national and international websites fascinated by the Minnesota delicacy, with the likes of Yahoo Lifestyle, The Daily Mail, LADBible and Delish.com among those writing about QC Pizza.
It's unsurprisingly splitting opinion, with pickle fanatics intrigued and pizza purists revolted.
"This is either going to look like food heaven or food hell to you, but if you're of the pickle persuasion – I'm not judging – there's a likelihood you're booking a flight to Minnesota as we speak," LADBible wrote.
"This is the Kinda BIG Dill pizza made with sliced Canadian Bacon that has been smoked for two days, garlic dill sauce & their signature crust. This was OUTSTANDING! I can’t wait to get back there to try some of their other pizzas!" said Minneapolis food influencer AJEats.
Others were less impressed however.
You can find QC Pizza at 3150 Century Ave N in Mahtomedi.
