A new 'clean' comedy venue, Gutty's Comedy Club, will open in Edina's Southdale Center this fall
A new comedy club opening in the Twin Cities this fall is promising all the laughs you'd expect from a stand-up show — but without any of the filth.
Gutty's Comedy Club bills itself as a clean comedy club, meaning the jokes are appropriate for, well, anyone. The family-friendly entertainment venue will mark its debut in the Twin Cities on Sept. 10, when Gutty's Comedy Club opens at Southdale Center in Edina.
Comedian Mike Brody (a Minneapolis native) will headline the grand opening with a two-night stint, Sept. 10-11. He'll be followed by Lee Hardin Sept. 17-18, Hoss Ridgeway Sept. 24-25 and Andy Beningo Oct. 1-2.
Tickets for all shows can be purchased here at the Gutty's Comedy Club website.
The owner of Gutty's Comedy Club Minnesota is Kyle Yamada, a Minneapolis-based comedian. He had performed a few times at the only other Gutty's in the world, located in Greenwood, Indiana, and fell in love with the idea.
So he worked with the original club owners (Steve Rivera and Dennis Tooley) to get one off the ground near his hometown.
The goal for Gutty's Comedy Club in Minnesota is to bring family-friendly, live stand-up comedy — featuring the most renowned clean comedians in the country — to the Twin Cities
Gutty's Comedy Club will be located on the second level of Southdale (10 Southdale Center), next to Macy's and just beneath Dave and Busters. It will be open Mondays, Saturdays and Sundays from 7:30-10 p.m.,
The list of upcoming shows is available on the Gutty's Comedy Club website. You can buy tickets here.
