Meyvn opened in the Lyn-Lake neighborhood to much fanfare last July, and the acclaim has continued ever since.
That's why it comes as somewhat of a shock that the bagel haven at the corner of Bryant and Lyndale is closing after less than 10 months in business.
The deli announced on its Instagram page that its last day of service will be Sunday, Apr. 21.
As well as its freshly-made bagels, Meyvn also attracted admiring remarks for its cheeseburger (CityPages is a big fan).
"We've had such a great time getting to be your favorite neighborhood Jewish-ish restaurant," Meyvn wrote on Instagram. "We wish it could last forever.
"But don't despair- we'll still be cranking out bagels for Kowalski's! And we have exciting new things coming as well. So come on over to grab some bagels and celebrate with us."
The brains behind Meyvn were Tim Niver, Adam Eaton, and Laurel Elm, best known in St. Paul for their celebrated eateries Saint Dinette and Mucci's.
