After getting a taste of food television fame with a winning appearance on Iron Chef earlier this year, Justin Sutherland has the next prize in his sights.
The acclaimed chef behind Handsome Hog in St. Paul's Lowertown and Stillwater's recently-opened oyster and whiskey bar Pearl & The Thief will be on national TV again later this year.
He revealed last week that he's competing on the 16th season of Bravo TV's Top Chef.
With this season set in Kentucky, Sutherland will be competing with 14 other "cheftestants" for the Top Chef prize, aiming to impress judges Padma Lakshmi, Tom Colicchio, Graham Elliot and Gail Simmons.
You'll be able to see the new series when it returns to our screens on Thursday, Dec. 6 at 8 p.m. Central.
Handsome Hog will be holding a viewing party for the episode, more details of which can be found here.
Sutherland's involvement in Top Chef follows an appearance on an episode of Iron Chef America this past June.
Eater.com reports he won the episode with the help of fellow Twin Cities chefs Brandon Randolph (Pearl & The Thief) and Donald Gonzalez (formerly of Gray Duck.)
