Active and retired military members can get free Buffalo Wild Wings this Veterans Day

The Veterans Day offer is coming back for another year.

Members of the armed forces can get a free order of wings and side of fries for free at Buffalo Wild Wings this weekend.

B Dubs is once again bringing back its "Wings for Heroes" offer, the restaurant chain announced Tuesday

So on Nov. 11, any active or retired military service member can go to a participating Buffalo Wild Wings location and get a small order of wings (boneless or bone-in) plus the small fries for free.

You just need to present proof of service. That could be a permanent or temporary U.S. military ID card, or a veteran’s card. Showing a photo of yourself in uniform – or showing up to the restaurant in uniform – would work too.

This is the third year of the "Wings for Heroes" offer, which started in 2015.

“The servicemen and women that make up the United States armed forces have dedicated their lives to protect our freedom, and we are honored to offer them a small token of gratitude this Veterans Day,” said Ben Nelsen, vice president of operations of Buffalo Wild Wings, in Tuesday's announcement.

USA Today also has a big list of other places offering discounts and freebies for Veterans Day.

There are about 369,149 veterans living in Minnesota, a Department of Veterans Affairs 2015 report says.

About 68 percent are over the age of 55, and most of them served during the Vietnam era. But more than 30,000 are under the age of 35.

Nearly 48,000 (about 13 percent) served in the Middle East after 9/11.
