Afton Alps will open for the season this weekend

On Wednesday, the resort announced plans to open three trails on Saturday.

It's time to finally remove last season's ski tag from winter coats. Afton Alps has announced that it will open for the 2024-25 season on Saturday, Nov. 30.

The season launches with a "first chair banner break" at 10 a.m.

After the resort began the snowmaking process earlier in the week, Afton Alps is now ready to open three of its trails with a goal of adding more trails over the weekend, it said in an announcement.

The open trails won't include the bubly Tube Park that the Hastings resort previously announced would make a return this winter. When it's ready, the Tube Park will feature 10 tubing lanes in the Highland Zone.

With the season getting underway, it's last call on the resort's Epic Pass, which can only be purchased through Dec. 2.

The pass can be customized for one to seven days through the season with savings up to 55% compared to standard lift ticket prices.
