Al Roker will stop in Fargo, Moorhead while trying to break world record

Al Roker is coming to both Fargo and Moorhead next week. He's not going to be in either place for long though.

The 61-year-old popular weather man for NBC's "Today" will be in both cities Monday, Nov. 9, as he tries to set the record for fastest time reporting the weather from all 50 states, Forum reports.

He's starting in Hawaii, jumping up to Alaska, then starting in the northwest before moving eastward, according to the schedule posted by "Today."

Prairie Style File writes Roker will first head to the Historical and Cultural Society of Clay County in Minnesota that afternoon – it's not open to the public, but will be broadcast on a Minneapolis affiliate. Then he'll head to Fargo for the North Dakota broadcast at 7:30 p.m. from the city's downtown at the corner of Third Avenue and Broadway, the website writes.

It's part of "Rokerthon 2" – last year, for "Rokerthon 1," he set a Guinness World Record by doing the weather for 34 straight hours.
