Aldi is selling Thanksgiving dinner ingredients for less than $30
Budget grocery store chain Aldi is offering a cut-price Thanksgiving dinner option this year.
For less than $30 – a reduction on its 2019 prices – shoppers can get 12 items that can make up much of your typical Thanksgiving dinner, including a Butterball frozen turkey and pumpkin pie ingredients.
The under-$30 meal pledge includes the following items:
- Butterball frozen turkey
- Bagged stuffing
- Sweet potatoes
- Frozen peas
- Hawaiian Sweet Rolls
- Fresh cranberries
- Carrots
- Celery
- Canned pumpkin pie mix
- Pie crust
- Whipping cream
- A gallon of whole milk
While you'll still need some ingredients like flour or butter to fully pull off the dinner, the cost of the items being offered by Aldi is nonetheless lower than the options being offered by competitors.
CNBC found that Walmart's total for a Thanksgiving meal comes in at $30.21 for a family of four (albeit with a tweak on the ingredients available at Aldi), while Amazon Fresh charges $40.59.
Aldi has also said it'll be buying Thanksgiving dinner for all of its employees, with each receiving two $30 gift cards ahead of the holiday.
