Valleyfair roller coasters have reopened after flood-related closures
Valleyfair has reopened two of the three rides that closed due to flooding, a representative tells Bring Me The News.
In late June, as floods spread across Minnesota, the amusement park closed three rides and its main parking lot due to flooding along the Minnesota River. It also canceled its Fourth of July fireworks celebration.
While rides had to be shut down as water pooled around the base of the structures, they were designed to withstand flooding as they're built along a floodway.
Valleyfair's Renegade coaster and main parking reopened on July 8, and the park's wood and steel hybrid coaster, Excalibur, reopened on July 9.
Thunder Canyon, however, remains closed.
Correction: A previous version of this story cited a Valleyfair representative saying Thunder Canyon would open by the end of the week. The statement was revised, and there is no timeline for when it will reopen.
