The culinary teams from four local restaurants will host a "pop-up pick-up" Tuesday in St. Louis Park, where guests can grab dinner to go from their cars.
From 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., chefs from Animales BBQ, Red Wagon Pizza, Bellecour Bakery at Cooks, and Passport Hospitality will host the event in the parking lot behind 4931 West 35th Street, next to Steel Toe Brewery.
All proceeds will go to Second Harvest Heartland, the Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project and World Central Kitchen, organizers said.
Organizers hope to sell 125 to-go bags, which sell for $200 and can feed two.
Each bag is filled with ribs, links, pickles and BBQ sauces from Jon Wipfli and Animales, a large par-baked pizza from Peter Campbell and Red Wagon Pizza, spicy black sesame peanut noodles and Sichuan cucumber salad from JP Samuelson and Andrew Zimmern at Passport. and cookies from Gavin Kaysen and Diane Moua from Bellecour Bakery at Cooks, according to the event description.
Also, Andrew Zimmern will be running food to the cars. "If anyone wants to say hi, please don't be shy," organizers wrote, adding they hope to host similar events going forward.
