The newest restaurant from James Beard Award winning Twin Cities chef Ann Kim will open next month.
Kim has announced that Sooki & Mimi will open its doors to diners on Wednesday, Feb. 3, at 1432 W. 31st St. in Minneapolis' Uptown neighborhood.
Taking up residence in what was formerly Lucia's, Sooki & Mimi will open with a 10-course menu called "A Celebration of Vegetables and Nixtamal."'
With her other restaurants – Young Joni, Pizzeria Lola, and Hello Pizza – combining Asian and Italian cuisine, Sooki & Mimi will feature Kim's first take on Mexican food, after she was inspired by a trip to Valle de Guadalupe.
"We are incredibly grateful to announce that after nearly three years of hard work and planning, we will officially open our doors on Wednesday, February 3," Kim posted on Facebook.
"No detail has been overlooked, including practices and procedures prioritizing the safety and well-being of our team, guests and community.
"We look forward to welcoming you in our beautiful new space for a thoughtful, reimagined and magical evening of hospitality."
Reservations for the 10-course menu go on sale Thursday, Jan. 21, which you can find here.
Kim was named the James Beard Foundation 2019 Best Chef Midwest for her work at Young Joni.
