Astros superfan Mattress Mack responds to Kris Lindahl with billboard in downtown Minneapolis
A friendly battle of egos is unfolding in the respective business worlds of the Twin Cities and Houston as the Minnesota Twins and the Houston Astros compete in the American League Divisional Series.
Ahead of Game 1 on Sa, Twin Cities real estate mogul Kris Lindahl – he of "arms outstretched" fame – took out 45 billboards near Houston's airport and Minute Maid Park, taking a shot at famous Astros superfan Jim "Mattress Mack" McIngvale.
"Hey Mattress Mack. You've never seen Twins like this! Love, Kris Lindahl," the billboards read.
On Monday, Mattress Mack responded by taking out a billboard outside Mayo Clinic Square in downtown Minneapolis, a few blocks from Target Field, which notes the fact that McIngvale's own wife Linda is herself a Twin.
"My wife is a real Twin. Go Astros! – Mattress Mack," the orange billboard reads.

On his Facebook page, McIngvale wrote: "Hey Kris Lindahl, thank you for putting my name on more billboards throughout Houston! My wife Linda is an actual twin and she, her sister Laura and our whole family are rooting for the Astros!
"GO 'STROS," he added.
McIngvale rose to greater prominence during the 2022 MLB postseason, when he placed $10 million in wagers on the Astros winning the World Series, and won $72.6 million as a result.
This year he has placed another $4.9 million of bets on the Astros this year, standing to win $34.4 million.
Per the Las Vegas Journal-Review, McIngvale's wagers are designed "to reduce risk on promotions at his Gallery Furniture stores." The business owner says customers who make purchases of $3,000 or more will get their money back if the Astros win the World Series.
Game 3 of the series starts at 3:04 p.m. Tuesday, with the series tied at 1-1.
