An award-winning reporter from the southwest will soon call Minnesota home.
Nathan O'Neal tweeted Monday he is joining FOX 9 as an investigative reporter, writing: "So excited for this next adventure!"
O'Neal is currently an investigative reporter with KOB 4 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, a position he has held for three years. Prior to that he spent four years covering news in Las Vegas, including the 2017 mass shooting that resulted in 61 deaths during a music festival.
He won an Emmy and Regional Edward R. Murrow Award for his breaking news work, and was honored with a Robert F. Kennedy Award in Journalism for an immigration documentary he produced.
He recently wrote a produced a 23-minute documentary about how COVID-19 has disproportionately impacted the Navajo Nation.
O'Neal grew up in Globe, Arizona, a town of less than 8,000 with roots in the mining industry. According to his KBO 4 bio, he loves the outdoors and has a beagle.
