Minnesota-based Best Buy is partnering with the delivery service Instacart to allow consumers to order items directly to their doors the same day.
Instacart announced the partnership Wednesday. The service will be available at almost all Best Buy locations nationwide. Items available for delivery include laptops, headphones, smartwatches, small appliances and gaming devices.
Best Buy does offer same-day delivery in many metro areas around the country, but The Verge notes these deliveries tend to be handled by USPS, FedEx or the USPS, and can be pricey.
Instacart will offer a cheaper option for same-day delivery, charging $3.99 on orders up to $500 in value. Items more expensive than this will not be eligible.
“As Instacart continues to play an essential role in households across North America, we’ve expanded with new and existing partners to offer greater selection to customers. In particular, as people settle into remote work and distance learning routines, we’ve seen increased demand for the same-day delivery of electronics on the Instacart marketplace,” said Chris Rogers, vice President of retail at Instacart, in a statement.
Other stores available for delivery through Instacart in the Twin Cities include Cub, Lunds and Byerlys, Total Wine, and CVS.
