Bob Dylan said he's too busy to go to Sweden to accept his Nobel Prize, but he did write a little something for the ceremony.

The legend has written a speech for the Nobel banquet in Stockholm, the Nobel Prize tweeted Monday.

The tweet says the speech will be read at the ceremony, but doesn't mention by whom.

Dylan made headlines earlier this fall, because it took him awhile to acknowledge the prestigious award. But when he broke his silence, he said he'd attend the Dec. 10 ceremony “if at all possible."

Which turned out to be not at all possible – Dylan said he would not be able to make it to Stockholm because he has prior commitments. He did emphasize he feels honored though, and wishes he were able to get the prize in person.

And if his Nobel Prize acceptance speech is anything like the notoriously long, epic one that he gave when he won the MusiCares Person of the Year 2015 award, we are in for a treat.

Nobel spokeswoman Annika Pontikis said Dylan's diploma and medal will be handed over at a later date, The Associated Press says.

The Swedish academy also announced that artist Patti Smith will be performing at the ceremony. She'll be playing Dylan's 1963 hit, "A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall."
