The lineup for the 2017 Cities 97 Basilica Block Party in downtown Minneapolis has been revealed.
Country-folk singer Brandi Carlile and Ohio rock band Walk the Moon are headlining the main Great Clips Stage on Friday and Saturday, July 7 and 8, respectively in the shadow of the Basilica of St. Mary, it was announced on Thursday night.
Headlining the PreferredOne Stage on Friday will be indie darlings The Shins with Andrew McMahon and the Wilderness also on the bill, before AWOLNATION and Walk Off The Earth take to the stage on Saturday.

The Pioneer Press notes Brandi Carlile is a regular visitor to the Twin Cities, previously playing the Fitzgerald, Cabooze, Minnesota State Fair, Target Center and the 2007 Basilica Block Party. Walk the Moon also previously performed at the Basilica, during the 2013 festival.
Pre-sale tickets went on sale Friday, costing $50 for one night and $90 for both nights. Early bird ticket sales start Saturday and run until May 31, costing $55 for one and $100 for two nights.
Prices will then rise to $60 and $110 from June 1-July 6, after which it will cost $65 and $110 for day of tickets.

The block party has been running since 1995, when it started as a fundraiser to pay for the restoration for the Minneapolis landmark. Proceeds from the event are still used for the preservation of the Basilica for future generations.
