Breakaway Music Fest will return to St. Paul next summer
When Breakaway Music Festival made its Minnesota debut at Allianz Field over the summer, it was the first concert hosted at the relatively new stadium.
In the days following the two-day dance music fest, organizers said they were hopeful that Breakaway would return in 2025. On Thursday, the festival announced its 2025 season, including a return visit to St. Paul on June 6 and 7.
In 2025, the rapidly expanding festival will add six new cities to the roster, hitting a total of 12 cities from April to October.
At this early stage, performers haven't been announced. Last year, the St. Paul lineup included Illenium, Kaskade, Slander, Knock2, Isoxo, and many others. Other Breakaway Fest dates have featured headliners like The Chainsmokers, Tiësto, deadmau5, and John Summit.
While the response from fans was largely positive around Breakaway's first visit, it did garner noise complaints, possibly because it was a new experience for the Midway neighborhood.
"Breakaway prioritizes listening to the community and we hear their feedback regarding the amplified sound," Breakaway President Jarrod Fucci told Bring Me The News after the event. "We look forward to engaging with them as we plan our hopeful return to St. Paul in 2025. Year-over-year improvement is always top of mind for our entire team, this will include further sound engineering studies to improve upon the layout of our event, hopefully mitigating more of the impact to local residents."
At that time, Fucci said that the St. Paul event was the largest fest stop in Breakaway's season thus far. He added that the event brought in 24,000 attendees and diverted more than six thousand pounds of waste through its partnership with Zero Waste.
