Fans of the reality TV show "American Ninja Warrior" can practice their skills at a new playground near the Twin Cities.

The City of Golden Valley is inviting people of all ages and abilities to check out the new equipment at Schaper Park, which includes an outdoor fitness challenge course that is the first of its kind in Minnesota.

Much like American Ninja Warrior (but not quite as difficult), the course features obstacles that participants must navigate over, under, around, and through as they race against the clock, the city says.

There's a permanent "selfie wall" where runners can take photos of their accomplishments.

The playground also has an app that allows you to find your friends, log your times and track your progress, WCCO says.

The challenge course is designed for ages 13 and up, the city says, and "promotes wellness, fitness, and health through active recreation for teens and adults."

For younger kids or people with different abilities, the park also has a new "all-inclusive" play area that's wheelchair accessible.

Even with the rainy weather there were a few teenagers and kids there Monday afternoon (begging their mom to stay longer).

Schaper Park is located just west of Theodore Wirth Park off Highway 55.
