Though "Manic Monday" was a big hit for the Bangles (of "Walk Like an Egyptian" fame) in 1986, Prince actually wrote the tune — and now, 33 years later, we're getting a glimpse of what it would have been like if the Purple One had released it himself.
This weekend, the Prince Estate dropped a music video for the late star's version of Manic Monday. It features rare rehearsal footage of Prince jamming with his bandmates in-studio:
It accompanies Prince's demo version of the track, which is also featured on the new album "Originals" — a compilation of recordings released by the Prince Estate this month.
The album is a collection of Prince demos that would go on to become hits for other artists; it also includes "Nothing Compares 2 U," which was popularized by Sinéad O'Connor.

The Manic Monday video was first released as an Apple Music exclusive on Friday, and then on YouTube on Sunday.
