The chicken purveyors at Raising Cane's and Chick-fil-A opened their 10th and 20th Minnesota locations respectively on Thursday.
Raising Cane's, which has expanded rapidly in the past few years, opens its latest location at 1525 Central Parkway in Eagan on Tuesday, Oct. 8.
Employing 90 workers, it's the 10th Raising Cane's restaurant in the Twin Cities metro, a market it first entered in 2007.
The restaurant will hold a grand opening event at 8:30 a.m., which saw 20 customers aged 13 and older selected to get free food for a year.
"We’ve assembled an incredible crew and the new restaurant is in a great location, close to the TCO Performance Center," said General Manager Travis Geving.
"We look forward to continuing our work with the city of Eagan in addition to getting even more involved with local schools and organizations, and we can’t wait to become an integral part of the community."
Further north in Roseville, more than 170 people camped out overnight in order to qualify for a year of free Chick-fil-A meals.
The chicken chain runs this promotion at every new restaurant opening, with the latest at 2090 Snelling Ave. N., just south of Hwy. 36 near Rosedale Center.
This restaurant has taken on 115 new staff, and becomes the 20th Chick-fil-A in the state, most of. which are found in the metro.
