It's a place where the beer flows like wine, where beautiful women instinctively flock like the salmon of Capistrano. A little place called Carlton, Minnesota.

The city with a population of a little over 1,000 can currently lay claim to being the luckiest place in the state of Minnesota.

In the past three weeks, two lottery tickets matching five numbers on the Powerball were sold in the city, according to the Minnesota State Lottery.

The most recent was bought from the Kwik Twip at 1711 Highway 210 in Carlton on Friday, with Emil Hakomaki winning a $1 million prize.

The Hibbing resident said he'd been touring Gooseberry Falls when he made a Kwik Trip stop. He claimed his prize on Monday and said he'll invest some of it, but also "set a chunk aside for fun money."

This ticket is unclaimed as of now, but when it's claimed the retailer that sold the tickets will get a $5,000 bonus.

They've got plenty of time to claim it though, in Minnesota a winning ticket can be claimed up to a year after the date of the drawing.
