Actor-director George Clooney apparently had a warm idea in mind when coming up with a keepsake for his "The Monuments Men" colleagues.

KDHL Radio says Clooney ordered some custom blankets from the Faribault Woolen Mill Co.

Faribault Tourism Director Todd Ginter told the station that Clooney, who directed and produced the film, outfitted his entire cast and crew with woolen military blankets made by the company. Each of the blankets also had "The Monuments Men" stitched on it, Ginter said.

A representative from Fast Horse, the PR film that represents the mill, tells the Star Tribune that the blankets retail for over $200 a piece.

Based on a true story, "The Monuments Men" follows a group of art historians, conservators and museum directors that President Franklin D. Roosevelt sent into Europe during World War II to find and safeguard thousands of paintings, sculptures and priceless artifacts looted by the Nazis.

Clooney stars in the film, along with Matt Damon, Cate Blanchett, John Goodman and Bill Murray.

Various publications highlighted different Monuments Men from Minnesota in the days before the film's release earlier this month. Some Monuments Men artifacts are also being featured at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts.

KARE says the Monuments Men walking tour at the museum, which is free, runs through February.
