Comedian Jim Gaffigan to sign new book at MOA
Comedian and actor Jim Gaffigan is appearing at the Mall of America in Bloomington Friday to sign his new book "Dad is Fat," the MOA says.
Gaffigan will start signing copies of the book -- which he says chronicles the "joys and horrors of raising five young children" -- at the mall rotunda starting at 7 p.m.
Gaffigan told the Star Tribune's Neal Justin in a recent interview that writing a book from a stand-up comedian's standpoint was "definitely an adjustment" because doing stand-up is such a "verbal skill."
"You develop a lot of habits in stand-up where you rely on vocal inflections, facial expressions and an applied point of view," Gaffigan says. "I struggled to get around that."
Also appearing at the mall this week is the Nickelodeon series boy band Big Time Rush, for a signing of their new album "24/seven" Thursday afternoon.
