Love From Minnesota and the Animal Humane Society are teaming up to find the top dogs in Minnesota to be featured in a 2022 calendar.

The 12 winning dogs — one for each month of the year — will be picked via an online vote (you can vote here). The winning pooches will get "wagging" rights and each will be photographed at a Twin Cities landmark.

Their pictures will then be included in the 2022 Top Dog calendar, which will be sold at this year's Minnesota State Fair, as well as at the state's six Love From Minnesota retail stores.

Proceeds from the calendars will benefit the Animal Humane Society.

Nominations and voting began May 3. You can nominate your dog online here — all you need is a photo and a short bio. The 12 dogs with the highest number of votes on Wednesday, May 26, wins.

The contest is part of Woofda, a month-long initiative to celebrate Minnesota's dogs and families. Other events include a dog meet-up on May 22 and Tuesday and Thursday Yappy Hours, all in Roseville. You can find more details on these events here.
