Contestant on 'The Price is Right' wins trip to Minnesota couple's resort

A resort in Belize owned by a Minnesota couple was recently featured on The Price is Right

We'd have never known that St. George's Caye Resort was owned by Tim and Kristi Loose, of New Ulm, if not for the Mankato Free Press, which interviewed Tim after their resort gained national attention on the popular daytime game show.

Loose told the southern Minnesota newspaper that he bought the resort off the coast of Belize last year. This summer, someone from the show contacted him about featuring their resort, culminating on Monday, Oct. 22 when a guest won a trip to the little island.

"Today is a day in history for us. We will be featured on the 8,491st episode of The Price is Right," the resort's Facebook page says.

"We are so grateful to all of our guests who have given such wonderful reviews, making us a worthy destination to be featured on such an iconic broadcast."

According to the Free Press, the Looses donated the trip – a six-night stay in an overwater cabana – to the contestant while The Price is Right pays the airfare, a total value of $6,847.

The resort is described as a private island experience on a rustic beach featuring cabanas with thatch roofing, Belizean hardwood floors and access the jungle and world-class diving and snorkeling.

The Looses, natives of New Ulm, now call their somewhat more tropical location home.
