Cory Cove of KFAN's Power Trip stuck in elevator as show goes on air

He was stuck in there for well over an hour.

When KFAN's Power Trip show went on air at 5:30 a.m. Friday morning, it did so without its lead host.

That's because Cory Cove was stuck in an elevator at the KFAN offices in St. Louis Park.

It meant that fellow hosts Chris Hawkey and Paul "Meatsauce" Lambert had to run the show while Cove awaited rescue – but not before the pair posted a video outside the shuttered elevator doors.

Reached via text by Bring Me The News, a trapped Cove responded: "This sucks."

Cove sent us a picture of the scene inside the elevator and we've gotta say ... we've seen worse elevators to be stuck in. He's also got a couple of cans of Monster in there, but it'd probably be tempting fate to crack one of them open.

As of just after 6:20 a.m., Cove told his colleagues that the elevator crew "are at least 45 minutes away."

It prompted PowerTripBetz, the account that tracks all bets made on KFAN's Morning Show, to start offering lines for when Cove would be freed.

He was ultimately released just before 7 a.m., meaning he could make it back to the hot seat for his popular Friday morning quiz, The Initials Game, at 8:20 a.m.

It's probably high time that managers of the office building housing KFAN take a look at the elevator system, as this isn't the first time it's happened.

Last February, KFAN's Eric "Nordo" Nordquist was trapped in one of them, while in July KDWB's Dave Ryan – who works in the same building – became stuck as he chose to ride in a different elevator from someone who wasn't wearing a face mask.
