Duck Donuts to open its second Minnesota location, at the Mall of America

It'll open on the mall's third level.

After debuting in the Twin Cities in Woodbury last winter, Duck Donuts is set to open its second metro location.

The North Carolina-based donut chain will move into the Mall of America, taking up residence on level 3, North.

The store will be owned by Justin Butler, the franchisee of the Woodbury Duck Donuts, which opened its doors in December.

"We chose to make Mall of America home to our second Minnesota location due to its premier status as a destination in the Twin Cities,” said Butler in a press release.

"Duck Donuts is more than just donuts, it’s a creative, fun and interactive experience that we feel aligns with the direction of Mall of America."

The Duck Donuts CEO, Russ DiGilio, said the company's expansion to the MOA is part of its wider strategic plan to open in "nontraditional spaces."

The chain is known for its signature and seasonal donuts, as well as giving diners the option to design their own donuts, making custom vanilla cake donuts to order before allowing customers to select the coating (ie. powdered sugar, cinnamon etc.), frosting, topping and drizzle.

Additional items on the menu at the MOA include coffee, espresso drinks and donut sundaes.
