The Mall of America will run on Dunkin' next year as the popular coffee and donut chain debuts at the megamall.

Dunkin' will open its 11th Twin Cities location on level 2 East, directly off the mall's Rotunda, some time in 2020, the MOA announced on Wednesday.

The shop will serve its customary selection of baked goods and hot and ice coffee, as well as having a pickup area dedicated to DD Perks Rewards members ordering via their smartphone.

"We are excited to be able to bring Dunkin’ into Mall of America," said Dunkin' franchisee Chris Leu.

"The Mall offers a dynamic environment that draws people from around the world, and we believe Dunkin’ will offer a well-known option for those coming from near and far."

What was formerly known as Dunkin' Donuts disappeared entirely from Minnesota in the mid-2000s, with the last shop closing in Austin in 2005.

But it made its return to the Land of 10,000 Lakes five years ago, renewing its push to compete with the likes of Caribou Coffee and Dunn Bros.

There are now 16 Dunkin' shops across Minnesota, 10 of them in the Twin Cities metro, with the MOA outlet set to become the 11th.

The other Dunkin' locations in the Twin Cities can be found in the following locations:

  • Andover
  • New Hope
  • Roseville
  • West St. Paul
  • Eagan
  • Hastings
  • Bloomington (Great Wolf Lodge)
  • Minneapolis Airport
  • Richfield
  • Maple Grove
