Famous Dave's in Uptown has shuttered its doors with plans of relocating in another area of the Minneapolis neighborhood.

According to the Star Tribune, the restaurant closed its dining room a month ago. At the time, the plan was to redesign the dining area and trim it from a 250-seat capacity to 90. To-go orders and delivery service remained available until the restaurant was closed for good this week.

"After weighing our options, we made the decision to relocate our Calhoun Square restaurant," Al Hank, senior director of company operations told City Pages. "It has been a pleasure to serve our guests in Uptown at this restaurant, and we're excited to find the next location to continue that service."

The Star Tribune reports that executives are looking to reopen at a yet to be announced location in Uptown. It's not yet clear what will replace the Calhoun Square spot, which is located in the Calhoun Square building at 3001 Hennepin Ave.

Based on the Famous Dave's website, the loss of the Calhoun Square location trims the number of Famous Dave's restaurants in Minnesota to 12: Duluth, Apple Valley, Coon Rapids, Maple Grove, Plymouth, Forest Lake, Minnetonka, Owatonna, Rochester, Woodbury, St. Paul (Highland Park), and Roseville.
