Minneapolis is home to the best doughnuts in Minnesota, courtesy Bogart's Doughnut Co.
That's according to food writer Aaliyah Gibson of The Daily Meal, whose article on MSN.com picks out the top ringed confection in every state in the country.
Her choice of Bogart's is sure to be backed unanimously by every Minnesotan who has tried the doughnuts from its West 36th Street bakery. Yep, there's no possible way that anyone could have a different opinion.
Taking off my "impartial writer's cap" for a second here, I happen to think the Bogart's raised, vanilla bean glazed doughnut is ridiculously delicious and urge all to try it.
Gibson agrees, saying the shop's brioche dough is what makes its doughnuts "so irresistible and buttery." She also gives shout outs to its vanilla buttercream-filled and its sprinkled cake doughnuts (also personal opinion: cake doughnuts suck).
In all seriousness, there is no shortage of top quality doughnuts in the Twin Cities and indeed Minnesota, and for every listicle like this one, there will be several more picking a different vendor.
Thrillist for example has previously picked out A Baker's Wife in the Standish neighborhood as the Twin Cities' best, while MSP Magazine has previously highlighted Cardigan Doughnuts in downtown Minneapolis and Mojo Monkey Donuts in St. Paul among its favorites.
