A former reporter with KARE 11 in Minneapolis is going national this month, the Pioneer Press reports.

Joe Fryer, who is currently a reporter at KING-TV in Seattle, has been filling in as an NBC News correspondent in August.

A Rogers, Minn., native, Fryer worked for KARE for six years before leaving the station in 2010.

So far in August, Fryer's reports have been featured on NBC's "Today" show, the "NBC Nightly News" and MSNBC.

Fryer even made a return to a KARE's newscast to talk about his coverage of the Hannah Anderson story. Anderson is the California teen who was kidnapped by a family friend who is accused of murdering girl's mother and brother.

Fryer, 36, tells the Pioneer Press that he's been taken aback by the interests Minnesotans have taken in him on social media sites since his he began his NBC gig.
