The Minnesota-powered couple behind the Oscar-winning "Free Solo" could soon be directing Jake Gyllenhaal in a big-budget thriller.

Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi and Jimmy Chin are in talks with Netflix to helm a film adaptation of the book "The Helicopter Heist," Deadline reports.

Gyllenhaal and his business partners have been working with Netflix on the idea since last year. "The Helicopter Heist" is a novel inspired by the true story of four Swedish men who stole a helicopter and used it to rob a Swedish cash depot - flying off with millions of dollars. It's known as the Västberga helicopter robbery.

The film adaptation would be produced by and star Gyllenhaal. No word on any other casting or a possible title yet.

Vasarhelyi and Chin are riding high after the success of "Free Solo," which netted them a Best Documentary Oscar and true "Oh s***" moment during the broadcast.

Chin was born and raised in Mankato, attending Shattuck-St. Mary's in Faribault and later Carleton College, the Star Tribune says. He and Vasarhelyi, who is from New York, were wed in 2013.
